Swiss Trains

Lugano is one of the cities in Switzerland that is right next to the Italian Border. The Lugano train station is a 10 minute walk downhill from North Campus where many students enjoy going for day trips to places like  Italy, Lake Como, Zurich and Milan. This type of transportation is the most cost efficient and the train rides are beautiful! SBB is the Swiss transportation and TrainItalia is Italy transoportation system. Train tickets and transportation cards that give discounts on rides can be bought on the SBB app or website.  

 

Buses 

The bus is a great mode of transportation as it easily takes you around the Lugano area for a low price. There are many bus stop around the Franklin campus where you can catch a ride to the destination of your choice. Tickets and more information can be found on the SBB app or FUS app. 

 

Taxis

Other students have expressed their preference to take cabs. “One of the best taxi drivers is Medad, he has a Mercedes S Class,” Says Blake Pasternack. “He's really nice, Really quick, and you can blast music and he lets you play the music that you want to. Extremely loud.” The taxis make students feel safe and comfortable transporting around Lugano.
